Publishing to WebSphere DataPower
If you have configured IBM Integration Designer to have WebSphere DataPower development capabilities, you can use the DataPower Appliances view to publish artifacts from Integration Designer to your DataPower appliance and to download files from the appliance.
WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances are network devices that can help secure and accelerate your XML and web services deployments. After you develop your maps and artifacts in IBM Integration Designer, publish them right to the appliance.
You can transfer XSD, WSDL, XSLT, and XML files. File transfers use the DataPower appliance XML Management Interface, which is exposed through a set of web services. Before you can transfer files, make sure you configure the XML Management Interface and enable the following web services from the DataPower appliance console:
- SOAP Configuration Management
- Appliance Management Protocol Endpoint
For more information on configuring the XML Management Interface, use the link to the WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances documentation at the bottom of this topic.
- DataPower Appliances view
The DataPower Appliances view is part of the Business Integration Perspective. It is available when you configure IBM Integration Designer with WebSphere DataPower capabilities. Use this view to configure and manage your connections to DataPower appliances and to perform file transfers between IBM Integration Designer and the appliance. You can also connect to the DataPower Appliance console from this view.- Defining and managing appliances
Use the Appliances tab to define and manage your connections to DataPower appliances. An appliance definition contains all of the properties necessary to establish a secured connection between IBM Integration Designer and the DataPower appliance.- Certificate management
WebSphere DataPower appliances require a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection with all clients, including IBM Integration Designer. Each appliance provides a self-signed certificate to establish that secured connection. Before you can connect to the appliance, you must import the certificate into the IBM Integration Designer Java Virtual Machine (JVM) truststore .- Transferring files
Use the Transfer Files tab to move files between IBM Integration Designer and an appliance.
