Create services for WebSphere DataPower Appliances
IBM Integration Designer provides the capability for creating data types and xml maps that can be deployed on the WebSphere DataPower Appliance. You can also transfer files to and from WebSphere DataPower.
Tip: IBM Integration Designer supports a range of servers, runtime deployment environments and capabilities. Verify that you have enabled the capabilities and features for which you are licensed in order to perform tasks such as those in this section. See Business integration capabilities for information on capabilities and functions.
Artifacts that are targeted for WebSphere DataPower can only be created in a DataPower Library. In order to enable the function that allows you to create the library, you must enable the DataPower capability in IBM Integration Designer. You can create and test these artifacts for WebSphere DataPower:
- Business Objects
- Interfaces
- XML maps
- The runtime environments for IBM Integration Designer
You can use IBM Integration Designer to create applications that can be run in IBM Process Server or WebSphere DataPower Appliance.
- Business integration capabilities
IBM integration Designer provides a filtering function known as capabilities. With capabilities, you can choose to hide tools not used during business integration application development. At any time, you can choose to show those tools again.- Enabling tool capabilities
Enable capabilities to limit the functions that are available to the user. You can enable and disable tool capabilities in several ways.- DataPower libraries
A DataPower library is used to store artifacts that are developed for deployment to a WebSphere DataPower Appliance. The library facilitates source code management in a team repository, and is also used to transfer artifacts between IBM Integration Designer and WebSphere DataPower.- Create DataPower libraries
A DataPower library is an IBM Integration Designer project that is used for the development, version management, and organization of resources targeted for WebSphere DataPower.- Create XML maps for WebSphere DataPower Appliance
You can create XML maps between business objects (XSDs) and run the generated XSL transform on the DataPower Appliance
- Publishing to WebSphere DataPower
If you have configured IBM Integration Designer to have WebSphere DataPower development capabilities, you can use the DataPower Appliances view to publish artifacts from Integration Designer to your DataPower appliance and to download files from the appliance.
