Find attribute dictionary catalog entry attributes

If the attribute dictionary has been loaded into WebSphere Commerce, you can view the attribute dictionary attributes assigned to any catalog entry.


Before you begin

The site administrator must load and enable the attribute dictionary before you can proceed with the following steps.


Procedure

  1. Open the Catalogs tool.

  2. Find the catalog entry which attributes to view.

  3. To find descriptive attributes, click the Descriptive Attributes tab; then view the information in the Descriptive Attributes (Attribute Dictionary) table:

    Option Description
    Sequence The order in which the object is displayed. Numbers are displayed in ascending order.
    Type An icon representing the type of business object. This field is read-only.
    Code The language independent object identifier.
    Store In an extended sites model, the store the asset belongs to.
    Name The name of the attribute.
    Data Type The type of attribute such as text, whole number, or decimal number. When you select a data type, the attribute value section displays. This field is not editable.
    Value The name of the attribute associated with the product, such as color and size. The attribute name is determined when the product group is created. For example, the product group "Men's carpenter jeans" can have two attributes: color and size. Each product within this group includes color and size values, such as "Men's carpenter jeans, indigo blue, 36 inch waist and 38 inch length".

  4. To find defining attributes, click the Defining Attributes tab; then view the information in the Defining Attributes (Attribute Dictionary) table:
