Create appservers


  1. Log on to the console and go to...

  2. Select a node for the appserver

  3. Enter a name for the appserver

  4. Select a server template for the new server

  5. To generate unique ports for the appserver, select...

      Generate unique HTTP ports

  6. Click Next and review the settings for the new server.

  7. When complete, click...

      Finish | Synchronize changes with nodes | Save

  8. For appservers with unique ports, configure virtual hosts with a new host alias for each of the ports used by the new server.

  9. To set server components started during the server startup process, select...

      Servers | Server Types | WebSphere appservers | appserver | Start components as needed

If we are migrating from a previous version of WAS, we can upgrade a portion of the nodes in a cell, while leaving others at the previous level, with two different release levels in the same cell. Use a server configuration template that matches the version of the node for which you are creating the server.
