Migrate product configurations with the migration disk

The WAS v8.0 migration disk can be used to run the WASPreUpgrade command against an existing v6.x environment. It can be used for migration involving operating systems that are not supported by WAS v8.0.

  1. Run the WASPreUpgrade command on the migration disk against the existing WAS version.

    • Specify the migration backup directory.

    • Specify the name of the installation root directory for the current WAS v6.x installation.

    • Optional: Specify the name of a specific instance or profile to be migrated from a previous version of WAS.

    • Optional: Specify the location of user preferences for the administrative console for one or more profiles.

  2. Upgrade the operating system.

  3. Install WAS v8.0. Do not use the migration option.

  4. Run the WASPostUpgrade command manually.

  5. If necessary, troubleshoot
