Update Installation Manager using wizard mode

We cannot add the installation kit to the list of repositories in Installation Manager. We cannot add the repository.config file from the Installation Manager installation files as a repository to update Installation Manager. We must update Installation Manager to a later version. We cannot roll back to an earlier version.


Update Installation Manager to the latest version using service repositories

  1. In Installation Manager, click...

      File > Preferences > Repositories > Search service repositories during installation and updates

  2. Click Updates and select the Search for Installation Manager updates option.

  3. Click OK to close the Preferences page.

  4. Click one of these wizards: Install or Update.

    Installation Manager searches for updates to itself. If a later version is found, we are prompted to update Installation Manager. For version information, click Details.

  5. Click Yes to update Installation Manager.


Update Installation Manager using downloaded files

  1. Create directory to hold extracted fix pack.

  2. Extract the fix pack to the directory that we created.

  3. Start Installation Manager.

      ./imcl -c

  4. Click...

      File > Preferences > Repositories > Add Repository

  5. Browse to or enter the file path to the repository.config file in the directory where we extracted the compressed files.

  6. Verify that updates are enabled. Click...

      File > Preferences > Updates > Search for Installation Manager update

  7. On the main page of Installation Manager, click Update.
