Search for updates in wizard mode

We can set preferences to have Installation Manager automatically search for updates to installed packages or for updates to itself. These preferences work together to find updates when you are installing with the Installation Manager graphical user interface (GUI).

Use the Search service repositories during installation and updates and Search for Installation Manager updates preferences to search for updates to installed packages.

Search service repositories during installation and updates checks the service repositories for updates for installed packages. Search for Installation Manager updates checks for available updates to Installation Manager. An update is available if the update can be found by Installation Manager. Installation Manager finds updates either in the service repositories or in the repositories that are listed in the repository table.

For information about using these preferences in the silent mode, see Search for updates in silent mode.
