Installing the application monitoring update into WebSphere Integration Developer

To monitor applications created in WebSphere Integration Developer 6.1 or 6.2, install an application monitoring update into WebSphere Integration Developer using Eclipse software updates.

To install the required update:


Procedure

  1. Extract the file from the ApplicationMonitoringInfo\61 or ApplicationMonitoringInfo\62 directory on the Business Monitor CD to a working folder (for example, D:\monitoring_update).

  2. In WebSphere Integration Developer 6.1 or 6.2, switch to a perspective other than the Business Integration perspective, such as the Resource perspective.

  3. From the main menu, select Help > Software Updates > Find and Install.

  4. Click Search for new features to install, and then click Next.

  5. Click New Local Site, browse to the directory that contains the extracted files (such as D:\monitoring_update\MonitoringInfoExportUpdateSite), and then click OK.

    Click Finish. In the Search Results window, expand 61/MonitoringInfoExportUpdateSite or 62/MonitoringInfoExportUpdateSite, and expand the Application monitoring information export utility.

  6. Select the Application monitoring information export utility and Monitor application descriptor features. Click Next.

  7. Accept the license agreement, and then click Next.

  8. Click Finish to start the installation.

    If you are using version 6.1 or 6.2 and the Update Manager throws an exception, you might need to install a patch, located at the following link: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2308&context=SSQQFK&q1=Update&uid=swg21308677&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en.

  9. After the installation is finished, click Yes to restart WebSphere Integration Developer.
