Enable People Finder for anonymous users

If you grant access to anonymous users for any page containing the People Finder portlet, also grant them access to a hidden page, and to a dynamic person tag portlet that support awareness in People Finder. In addition, enable session use for anonymous users.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to the portal as an Administrator.

  2. In the product banner, click Administration.

  3. In the list on the left, under Access, click Resource Permissions.

  4. In the list on the right under Resource Types, click Pages.

  5. Use Search to locate the page in your site where you have added the People Finder portlet.

  6. Click the key icon under Assign Access.

  7. For the role User, click the pencil icon, and then clickAdd.

  8. Select Anonymous Portal User, and then click OK as necessary to save the change.

  9. Still under Resource Permissions > Resource Types > Pages, select Unique name contains , and search for "ibm.portal.Person.Tag" to locate the hidden page.

  10. Repeat steps 6 through 8 to assign access for the hidden page.

  11. In the list under Resource Types, click Portlets,

  12. Make sure Title contains is selected, and search for "dynamic" to locate the hidden portlet with the title Dynamic Person Tag.

  13. Repeat steps 6 through 8 to assign access for the hidden portlet.

  14. Use Search to locate the People Finder portlet.

  15. Repeat steps 6 through 8 to assign access for the portlet.

  16. Click Logout.

  17. Set the following property in the WP NavigatorService from the admin console. For more information, see the topic on setting configuration properties, and the Navigator Service section in the topic on Portal configuration services.

    public.session = true
    

  18. Add the anonymous portal user to the user role on the USERS Virtual Resource:

    1. In the product banner, click Administration > Access > Resource Permissions.

    2. Under Resources Types, select Virtual Resources, locate USERS in the Resources list and then click the Assign Access icon.

    3. For the User role, click the Edit Role (pencil) icon.

    4. Click Add, then select Anonymous Portal User and click OK as needed to save the change.
