Configure Lotus Sametime people awareness for Firefox users

The STLinks applet provides people awareness in all the Domino and Extended Products Portlets. For users of the Firefox browser, the STLinks applet must be the version installed by default on the IBM Lotus Sametime server.

To configure the applet properly for Firefox, you copy files from the Lotus Sametime server to the WebSphere Portal server.

Prerequisites

Configure the WebSphere Portal server to recognize Lotus Sametime

Configure trust for the Sametime Contact List portlet

Even if you use the Domino-WebSphere Portal Integration Wizard, still perform this task manually.

Perform the following steps:

  1. On the WebSphere Portal server, create a folder (if one does not exist) named sametime under the following /wps.war directory:

    profile_root/installedApps/cell_name/wps.ear/wps.war

  2. Copy the Lotus Sametime server /stlinks folder to the /sametime folder that created on the WebSphere Portal server. The directory should resemble one of these examples:

    • Windows: profile_root\installedApps\cell_name\wps.ear\wps.war\sametime\stlinks

    • AIX: profile_root/installedApps/cell_name/wps.ear/wps.war/sametime/stlinks

    • i5/OS: profile_root/installedApps/cell_name/wps.ear/wps.war/sametime/stlinks

    • Linux: profile_root/installedApps/cell_name/wps.ear/wps.war/sametime/stlinks

  3. If the stlinks.jar file in the stlinks directory is not a signed version, replace it with a signed stlinks.jar file. Make sure the same version of stlinks.jar is running on both the Portal server and the Lotus Sametime server.

This file is on the Lotus Sametime server in the following directory:

    domino_data_root/domino/html/sametime/stlinks/signed
