Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

Building a portlet WAR

If you have a portal server deployment configuration defined for your project in IBM® WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer, you can build a portlet WAR. When you create your project, you can define a portal server deployment configuration for your project or associate a current configuration with your project.

  1. In Project Explorer with WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer, right-click the project and click Portal Server WAR > Build Portlet WAR.

If the menu command is not available, define a portal server deployment configuration for your project (WebSphere Portlet Factory Project Properties > Project Deployment Configurations).

  2. If this is the first time that you are deploying the portlet WAR, specify the location in which it is to be stored.

A progress meter is displayed indicating rebuild status. The location that you specify is stored in WebSphere Portlet Factory Project Properties.

After you deploy the WAR, automatic synchronization can copy any changed files to the portlet WAR. Set the Automatically Synchronize Portlet WAR option in WebSphere Portlet Factory Project Properties.

Note: Models from the samples and nodeploy directories do not deploy.
