You can install IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce silently from a DVD
Prerequisites
- Verify the computer on which you are installed WebSphere Commerce Sales Center meets the requirements for IBM Sales Center Client Security
- Verify the computer on which you are installing WebSphere Commerce Sales Center meets the Hardware prerequisites for installing WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Commerce v7 software requirements prerequisites.
- Ensure that you are logged in as a user with sufficient system privileges to install new software.
- Ensure that you do not have any Lotus Expeditor version installed on the computer. If you do not want to uninstall the Lotus Expeditor version, you should use the update site: Install IBM Sales Center from an update site.

To silently install IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce...
Procedure
- Insert IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce DVD into the DVD-ROM drive.
- Copy the responsefile.txt file from IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce DVD to a location on the computer.
Tip: If we will be doing multiple silent installations, copy the DVD to a shared drive accessible from all of the machines on which to install IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce
- Update the responsefile.txt file.
- Start a command prompt session:
- Navigate to the location to which you copied responsefile.txt
- Issue the following command:
DVD-ROM_drive:\silentsetup.exe -silent -options responsefile.txt
If you copied the DVD to a shared drive location, replace DVD-ROM_drive with the shared drive location.
Results
After the installation completes, review the SC_installdir\log\tsinstall.log file to ensure no errors occurred during the installation. If you performed a silent installation on multiple computers, this log file should be checked on each computer.
- Prepare a silent installation response file
Before installing IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce silently, prepare a file that contains the information required to complete the installation wizard. This file is called a response file because it contains responses to the prompts of the installation wizard.
