Starter store enhancements
A starter store enhancement provides additional features to a starter store. Some starter store enhancements are applicable to a predefined starter store.
To use a starter store enhancement, you publish a store archive file (SAR file) on top of an existing starter store; then enable additional features by using Change Flow options.
- Social Commerce
Social Commerce provides social networking capabilities, enabling a store to integrate user-generated content into the storefront. Although social networking content can be viewed by any customer, it can only be created by registered customers.
- Remote widgets
Remote widgets are portable frames that display store content. You can create remote widgets to display e-Marketing Spot content, wish lists, and gift registries. You and the customers can embed and view remote widgets on sites outside of WebSphere Commerce. This is a great way to extend the brand reach and drive traffic back to the site.
- Digital wallet
A digital wallet, a starter store enhancement available in the Madisons and Madisons mobile stores, is a container for coupons. Customers use the digital wallet to store, access, manage, and organize coupon assets. Typically, customers redeem or remove digital coupons from their digital wallet in the storefront before checking out. Digital wallets contain references to coupon definitions stored for promotions.
- IBM Gift Center for the Madisons starter store
IBM Gift Center for the Madisons starter store allows the business to incorporate a gift registry solution into the storefront that uses service-oriented architecture. The Gift Center Web services provide seamless integration of gift registry functions on the Madisons storefront. Using Gift Center, customers can create and manage gift registries for their special events, and their guests can purchase gifts directly from the store catalog using the Madisons checkout flows.
