Migrate marketing from Management Center v6 Feature Pack 3 or 4 to Management Center v7

If the site was already using Management Center for marketing management before migrating to WebSphere Commerce v7, then you do not need to migrate any marketing data. You must perform some additional configuration tasks to ensure the site supports Management Center marketing features.

  1. Enable Management Center marketing features
To enable the Management Center Marketing tool and certain features that support behavioral marketing, modify several parameters in the WebSphere Commerce configuration file.

  2. Review settings in the marketing component configuration file (wc-admin-component.xml) for Management Center
Certain Management Center marketing functions are controlled by properties in the wc-admin-component.xml file for the marketing component. For example, there are properties for the session length for marketing experiments and for the time of day that certain marketing triggers are processed. Changing these properties is not always required, but it is a good idea to review certain property settings in this file to ensure that the site requirements are met.

  3. Configure the site to support optional Management Center marketing features
There are a number of configuration tasks you might need to perform to support some optional Management Center marketing features. Complete the tasks that are required for the site, if the support is not already in place.

  4. Review the latest sample e-Marketing Spot JSP snippet for Management Center
If the site has already been using Management Center v6 Feature Pack 3 or 4 for marketing management, the e-Marketing Spot JSP code on the store pages will work correctly with Management Center v7 Marketing tool. While you are not required to make any changes to the existing e-Marketing Spot JSP code, this procedure covers some optional steps to review new customization examples and remove some unnecessary code from existing e-Marketing Spot JSP code.
