Results

When installing the WebSphere Commerce Update Installer, you may receive a warning that indicates that there is a another version of the Update Installer on the system. A list of Update Installer locations will be provided. This list will include Update Installers for ALL WebSphere Software.

If any of these locations is the WebSphere Commerce Update Installer, it is recommended that you uninstall the other copies and install the latest version. If the list contains the locations of an Update Installer that is not used for WebSphere Commerce, these do not need to be uninstalled and the warning can be safely ignored.

To determine if the location specified contains an Update Installer for WebSphere Commerce, check the version.txt file found in the detected product path. For WebSphere Commerce, this file will contain the message:

WebSphere Commerce Update Installer.

For other WebSphere Software, the file will contain the message:

IBM Update Installer for WebSphere Software.

The WebSphere Commerce Update Installer can only apply maintenance to WebSphere Commerce software. You must use the Update Installer for WebSphere Software to apply maintenance to the WebSphere Application Server.
