Secure SIP applications

We can apply digest authentication and Trust Association Interceptor (TAI) for a SIP application by applying LDAP security to the application. Before you can apply security, first deploy an application that has been developed to support security (with the web.xml file configured for security) and roles. The following software must also be installed:

  1. Install a supported LDAP server. For a list of supported LDAP servers, see the IBM website for WAS supported hardware, software, and APIs.

IBM Tivoli Directory Server users can choose IBM Tivoli Directory Server as the directory type for better performance.

IBM SecureWay Directory Server was renamed to IBM Tivoli Directory Server in WAS version 6.1.

  2. Set up and activate Lightweight Third Party Authentication.
To apply LDAP security to a SIP application, click Applications > Enterprise Applications > applicationName and complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Click Detail Properties > Security role to user/group mapping.
  2. Check All Authenticated.

  3. Save all changes.

  4. Restart the server.
