Setting up transports

An appserver will need at most two transports defined: HTTP and/or HTTPS.

When defining a transport, there is an option to define the host name, as shown in Figure 5-6. This setting can be reached in the Administrative Console by clicking...

Servers | Application Servers | <AppServer Name> | Web Container | HTTP Transports | <Transport_Name>

This is the host IP address to which the plug-in will attempt to connect. If * is used for this, then WAS will replace this with the appserver host name when the plug-in configuration is regenerated (see 5.4.3, Generation of the plug-in configuration file). This should be the method used when setting up transports in a multi-cluster member, multi-machine environment.
