Configure automatic DIIOP and HTTP tasks on the Lotus Domino server
You configure a Lotus Domino messaging/appserver to support Collaborative Services and the Lotus Domino-based portlets by adding a setting to the NOTES.INI file that causes the server to start the DIIOP ( (Domino Internet Inter-Object Request Broker Protocol) and HTTP (Web) server tasks each time the server starts. You must enable these tasks on each Domino messaging/appserver in the portal environment.
Perform the following steps:
![]()
![]()
The Domino-WebSphere Portal Integration Wizard does not perform this task for you; instead, manually set the HTTP task to run on any Domino server before running the wizard on it.
- Open the NOTES.INI file in the domino_server_root directory on the Lotus Domino server.
- Locate the following entry:
ServerTasks=
- If the entry does not already exist, create it, and make sure the following values, if they do not already exist, are appended at the end of the line:
diiop,http
- Save and close the file.
- Restart the Lotus Domino server.
For more information on the DIIOP task, see the topic on hosting Java applets in the Domino Administrator Help; for information on the HTTP task, see the topic on starting and stopping the Domino Web server.
