Getting help from experts to complete a task

While working on a task in Process Portal, you can see the experts that are defined for it. An expert is a team member with related task expertise who can help you with completing a task.

An expert can be either an experienced expert or a recommended expert.

Experienced experts

Experienced users are selected by the system based on the number of tasks of the same type that they have completed.

For example, at the time you opened the Experts tab, the system found three users who previously completed one or more of the same task type, such as the Loan-Approve-or-Reject task, within the same process, such as the Loan-Approval process. The list is empty when the system cannot find any users who have previously completed this task type.

Recommended experts

Recommended experts are the subject matter experts who have been designated by your team and manually defined in the system for specific task types. The list is empty when this feature has not been configured by the system administrator.

Procedure

  1. See the list of experts that are defined for the task you are working on by clicking the Experts tab.
  2. Get help from an expert. You can get help from an expert in one of the following ways:

    • Ask an expert a question. Click @Mentions and compose your message. Your post will appear in the list of posts in the Stream tab.
    • Work with an expert directly on your task by clicking Collaborate. A collaboration invitation is sent to the expert.

    • Start an instant messaging session with the expert. If IBM Sametime Connect has been configured on your system and the expert is online, click Chat.
