Browsing assets in the asset repository
To look for assets that you might be able to reuse in your projects, you can browse through the asset repository or search for the assets you want.
To browse the assets in the asset repository:
Procedure
- Click the Asset Repositories view (which is in the same pane as the Monitoring Flow view) or, if the view is not visible, click Window > Show View > Other, open Asset Management Views, select Asset Repositories, and click OK
- In the Asset Repositories view, expand Business Process Management > IBM Business Monitor. If any Business Monitor development toolkit assets have been added, you can expand them to see the familiar Project Explorer view elements. Depending on your environment, you might also see IBM Integration Designer or IBM WebSphere Business Modeler folders and the assets inside them. Unless you have WebSphere Business Modeler running in Integration Designer, you will not be able to expand the WebSphere Business Modeler assets.
- You can see more details in the following ways:
- If you move the mouse pointer over an asset in the asset repository, you can see the information in its Name, Short Description, Community, and several other fields. The community is the people who own the asset. Your enterprise might have rules for what type of information belongs in each of these fields.
- If you double-click an asset, the asset opens in the editor pane. To determine the content that is in the asset repository, click Contents. Click Related Assets to see all of the assets that depend on this asset and all of the assets that this asset depends on. Through the Related Assets, you can find out where the asset originated, for example in the case of a monitor model that originally came from WebSphere Business Modeler. You can also click other pages, such as Categories and Ratings, for more information about this asset.
- If you right-click the asset and select Open Asset in Web Client, you see many of the same details with some additional details as well. In the web client, after you have logged in, you can also click Subscribe to this asset to be notified when the asset changes.
- To search for an asset, right-click the top-level node (the connection information) in the Asset Repositories view, and select Search Repository to go to the Asset Search view. Type your search string and click the magnifying glass icon. You can also search by tag cloud (a set of related tags), community, type, or any other field.
