Create an error

An error is an element in a business vocabulary that represents a fault condition in a business service operation.

To create an error, follow these steps:


Procedure

  1. Open an existing business vocabulary in an existing library.

  2. Click the Errors tab.

  3. Click the Add Error

    button.

  4. Change the default name for the error to a name that will be meaningful to you business user, who will eventually be viewing this error in the context of WebSphere Business Compass.

  5. An error can be associated with a business item that represents the data the error contains. To specify a business item as the underlying data type for a error, click in the Type column. A drop-down menu displays listing the business item types available.

  6. Select a business item from the drop-down menu. The type for the error changes to the selected business item.
