Enabling or disabling workbench-scoped security configuration

Administrative security is enabled by default for all test environment servers that were created as a result of installing the test environment. And by default, workbench-scoped security configuration is enabled. This means that when you modify a server configuration in the Window > Preferences > Server > Security page to reflect any changes that you have made to the administrative security settings in the server administrative console, the server configuration is modified in both your current workspace and in all other existing and future workspaces. However, if necessary, you can disable workbench-scoped security configuration, which allows you to use the server configuration editor to modify a server configuration and restricts your modifications to only the current workspace.

To enable or disable workbench-scoped security configuration:

Procedure

  1. From the Window menu, select Preferences. The Preferences window opens.

  2. In the navigation tree, expand Server and select Security. The Security page opens. If that the Security page only displays those test environment servers that were automatically created when the test environment was installed. It does not display user-defined test environment servers that were created after the installation of the test environment.

If , however, that if you use the server configuration editor to make modifications to the administrative security settings of a server in your current workspace and you want the modifications to apply to other existing and future workspaces, you will need to use the server configuration editor to manually make the same changes in all other workspaces where you want the settings to apply.

  4. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
