Installing the product extension for zPMT
To extend the z/OS Profile Management Tool (zPMT) with supplementary features for creating IBM BPM for z/OS profiles, install the IBM BPM for z/OS extension in the WebSphere Customization Toolbox.
- Install the WebSphere Application Server product code and the IBM BPM product code in the z/OS system.
- Install the WebSphere Customization Toolbox.
- Download the product extension file from the z/OS file system to the workstation where the WebSphere Customization Toolbox is installed.
The IBM BPM for z/OS V8.0.1 extension file can be installed in a single instance of the WebSphere Customization Toolbox, and used to support the different versions of WebSphere Process Server V7.0, and IBM BPM for z/OS V7.5.x and V8.0.x. When you create your customization definitions with the aid of the extension file, you can select the version of WebSphere Application Server that is applicable for the WebSphere Process Server or IBM BPM for z/OS profile to be customized; that is:
- 7.0 for WebSphere Process Server V7.0 and IBM BPM for z/OS V7.5.x
- 8.0 for IBM BPM for z/OS V8.0.x
Procedure
- Start the WebSphere Customization Toolbox as follows:
- On Linux. Use the menus used to start your programs.
For example, click Linux_operating_system_menus > IBM WebSphere > WebSphere Customization Toolbox V8.5.
- On Windows. Click Start > All Programs > IBM WebSphere > WebSphere Customization Toolbox V8.5 > WebSphere Customization Toolbox.
- Click Help > Software Updates > Manage Extensions.
- In the WebSphere Customization Toolbox Extensions window, install the IBM BPM product extension as follows:
- Click Install.
- In the Source Archive File window, click Browse, and navigate to the directory where you downloaded the .wct extension file.
- Select the zWBI.wct file, and click Open.
- Click Next to proceed.
- In the Extension Summary window, click Next to install the extension, and then click Finish.
- In the WebSphere Customization Toolbox Extensions window, click Finish. To complete the updates, you must restart the WebSphere Customization Toolbox.
- When prompted to restart the WebSphere Customization Toolbox, click OK.
- After the application restarts, verify that the extension file was installed successfully by accessing the Welcome perspective. Under List of provided tools, select Profile Management Tool (z/OS only). In the Welcome information for selected tool area, you should see the following list of products and components for which customization definitions can be created:
- WebSphere Application Server for z/OS
- WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus for z/OS v8.0
- IBM BPM Advanced: Process Server for z/OS v8.0
