Human Workflow Diagram (deprecated)
Use the Human Workflow Diagram widget to manage tasks in a workflow. This widget is deprecated. Use the Process Information widget instead.
A human workflow consists of tasks and various other interactions that control the processing of the workflow. The diagram shows only the tasks. Other interactions involved in the workflow are indicated by icons. Workflows can also contain collections of tasks indicated by shaded areas in the diagram. In these areas, you can perform additional actions specific to the type of collection.
If a task does not belong to a workflow or if you do not have reader access to the process, the diagram is empty.
In the Human Workflow Diagram widget, you can perform the following actions on the diagram:
- Change the size of the diagram by using the slider at the upper right of the diagram. Move the slider to the left to make the diagram smaller and to the right to make the diagram larger.
- Navigate around larger diagrams by moving the yellow rectangle in the overview window.
- Show the status information for the task and the labels on the links between tasks by clicking the Show details icon in the upper right corner of the diagram.
- Refresh the status information by clicking the Refresh icon in the upper right corner of the diagram.
- Show failure information for an interaction in the workflow that is not a task by clicking the failure indicator on a link. This indicator appears whenever such an interaction fails. You can use this information to contact your process administrator. Select the error information with the mouse and press Ctrl+C to copy the information to the clipboard.
You can perform the following actions on the tasks in the diagram:
- See a description of the task and who has previously worked on it by clicking the task and selecting Details.
- Work on a task by clicking the task and selecting Edit. The information about the task is shown in the Task Information widget.
- See the dependent tasks that are related to a task by clicking the task and selecting Show related tasks.
If you are working with a collection of tasks, you can also perform the following actions.
- If the collection of tasks represents a collaboration area, you can skip over tasks that are not needed, go back and redo others, or cancel skip requests if you are authorized to do so.
- If the collection contains multiple instances of the task collection that are processed in parallel, iterate through the instances to show the status of the tasks.
To skip over a task or go back and redo a task, click one of the tasks and perform one of the following actions:
- Select Skip to leave the task out of the current workflow. The status of the task is updated to skipped.
- Select Redo to put a skipped task back into the workflow. The status of the task is updated to redo.
