Create a Rational project

When you create a Functional Tester project, you can use the project stand-alone, or associate it with a Rational project to take advantage of the Functional Tester integration features with TestManager. If you want to associate a Functional Tester project with a Rational project, create a Rational project to store your test assets.

Before you begin

You must install Rational Administrator and Rational TestManager before you create a Rational project.

To create a Rational project:

Procedure

  1. Open the Rational Administrator by clicking Start > Programs > Rational Software > Rational Administrator.

  2. Click File > New Project.

  3. Enter the project name and the location (in Universal Naming Convention [UNC] format, if the project will be shared) of the directory for the project.

The following is an example of a possible path name (in UNC format):\\computer_name\directory\sub_directory

where subdirectory is an empty directory.

  4. Continue through the New Project wizard.

Tip: For more information about each field, click Help in the page of the wizard.
