Examining EJB applications by using UML class diagrams

In UML visualization, you can use Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagrams to examine Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) applications and populate class diagrams with enterprise beans and their relationships.

You can create new class diagrams or populate existing ones to examine the structures and relationships of enterprise beans and their classes. You can filter enterprise beans and their relationships in class diagrams. You can also show operation signatures and the parent names of enterprise beans and bean classes.

Showing the parent name displays the fully qualified package name in which an enterprise bean or bean class is owned. It is useful to show parent names, for example, when you need to know the containing projects of enterprise beans or you have a class diagram that displays enterprise beans that belong to different packages.

Customizing the EJB visual design tool
In UML visualization, you can set the default to add new enterprise beans to existing or new class diagrams when you create them by using the Create an Enterprise Bean wizard.

Creating UML class diagrams of enterprise beans
In UML visualization, you can create new Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagrams of enterprise beans to examine structure and relationships of enterprise beans, and bean classes and interfaces.

Populating UML class diagrams with enterprise beans
In UML visualization, you can populate existing Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagrams with enterprise beans, and bean classes and interfaces.

Showing related EJB elements
In UML visualization, you can populate a class diagram with Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) elements that have specific relations to the selected enterprise beans.

Showing related EJB relationships
In UML visualization, you can show specific relationships related to selected Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) enterprise beans in a class diagram.

Showing and hiding EJB relationships
In UML visualization, you can update an open class diagram or selected Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) enterprise beans in a class diagram by showing or hiding relationships that match your selected criteria.

Showing operation signatures of classifiers
In UML visualization, you can show the operations of classifiers with the full signature of parameters along with the full package names in class diagrams.

Showing parent names of classifiers
In UML visualization, you can show the parent names of classifiers in Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagrams.
