Create an authoring tools component

You can only use an authoring tools element by creating an authoring tools component. You cannot add an authoring tools element to authoring templates, site areas, or content items.

To create a authoring tools component, go to Applications | Content | web Content Management and then click New | Component | Authoring Tools.

1. Authoring tools component identification

Specify identification information for the component, including the name, title and description of the component.

2. Specify a location for the authoring tools component

When creating a component you can specify the location of the component.

3. Defining authoring tools

You can format an authoring tool element's look and feel in different ways, including displaying authoring tools as text-based links, or image based links.

4. Authoring tools component properties

Specify properties for the component, including the list of authors and owners associated with the component.

5. Granting authoring tools component access

Specify the access control settings for the component to determine which users have access to the component and their level of access.
