Create an authoring template
Create an authoring template to design a content item form and determine what elements can be included in the form.To create a authoring template, go to Applications | Content | web Content Management, and click New | Authoring Template.
1. Enter authoring template identification details
Specify identification information for the authoring template, including the name, title and description of the authoring template.
2. Specify a location for the authoring template
When creating an authoring template you can specify the location of the authoring template.
Specify the characteristics of the item generated from the authoring template, including the type of item to be created, where it can be saved and version control strategies.
Specify the layout and functions available to content authors when creating a new item based on this authoring template.
5. Authoring template properties
Specify properties for the authoring template, including the list of authors and owners associated with the authoring template.
6. Granting authoring template access
Specify the access control settings for the authoring template to determine which users have access to the authoring template and their level of access.
7. Default identification settings for content items
Specify default identification information for content items created using this authoring template.
8. Add elements to the content form
Add elements to the content form generated from the authoring template. You can define default values for the elements and set properties that dictate how the elements are displayed or processed.

Specify default properties for content items created using this authoring template.
10. Default profile settings for content items
Specify the access control settings for the authoring template to determine which users have access to the authoring template and their level of access.
11. Default workflow settings for content items

13. Defining display settings of fields and elements

14. Customize elements using JSP
A "custom JSP" field is available on some element types when added to an authoring template. You use this to reference a JSP file to use instead of the element default view in the user interface. You can write JSP to control the look and feel of an element, and to restrict the values that can be entered into an element.
