Create an image component

You create an image component when you want to reuse an image in multiple places in your Web site.

  1. From an authoring portlet, click New > Component > Image .

  2. Go to the Image tab:

    1. Enter identification information for the component.

    2. Click Choose File to select a file to store in the image component.

    3. Define the image properties:

    Option Description
    Border Define the size of the border to appear around the image. (0 = no border)
    Width Set the width of the image (in pixels). Optional.
    Height Set the height of the image (in pixels). Optional.
    Alternate text Enter the name of the image to display when saving the image, or if the browser cannot display the image.
    HTML Tag Name Enter the name of the HTML tag to be used in JavaScript.

  3. Go to the Properties tab:

    1. Select a location to save the component.

    2. Click Select Authors to select the users and groups you want to classify as "authors". You can use the authors of an item as a search or filter parameter.

    3. Click Select Owners to select the users and groups you want to classify as "owners". You can use the owners of an item as a search or filter parameter.

    4. If workflows are enabled for components, select a workflow.

    5. Set access properties.

  4. Save the component form.
