Implementing Widget Customize mode

IBM® Lotus® Mashups developers have the ability to set parameters for a widget by customizing the widget.

Lotus Mashups developers can alter aspects of a widget by editing the widget. For widgets developed with IBM WebSphere Portlet Factory, the profiled builder call inputs, in conjunction with settings in the Widget Adapter builder, determine the values exposed in Edit Settings of the widget.

To expose profiled builder call inputs in the Edit Settings mode of the widget, you need to add a Widget Adapter builder call to the WebSphere Portlet Factory model and declare how the associated profile sets are to be used in the customization. Use the Widget Customizer builder to define the customizable parameters.

  • Configuring the Widget Adapter builder call

You can expose profiled inputs in the model by setting the behavior for the profile set that contains them in the model's Widget Adapter builder call.

  • Using a different model for customization

If changing the look and feel of the Customize page does not provide you with the changes you want to implement, you can create a WebSphere Portlet Factory model that implements the intended customization.
