Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2
Automatic WAR synchronization
During ongoing development, WAR files are automatically refreshed with changes made to the project.
Thus, every time you run a model, whether from the WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer or a new portal session or a new mashup session, you see the latest changes.
Automatic Synchronization requires that the WAR be deployed, because the refresh operation attempts to write to the deployment location of the WAR. Automatic Synchronization is triggered when you build the project. Automatic Synchronization configuration settings can be edited by choosing Properties from the Project menu.
Note: Projects that you create in Eclipse in WebSphere Portlet Factory contain a WebContent folder. Only the contents of that folder are automatically synchronized. (In earlier releases of WebSphere Portlet Factory, if you were using Eclipse, it was the contents of the project root directory that were automatically synchronized.) If you copy a file in Eclipse to the project root directory rather than to the WebContent folder, it is not copied to the deployed location on the server and therefore is not auto-refreshed. If you upgrade a project you created in an earlier release of WebSphere Portlet Factory, its directory structure and auto-refresh behavior are unchanged.
