WRKLNK (Work with Object Links)

WRKLNK Command syntax diagram

Purpose

The Work with Object Links (WRKLNK) command shows a list of names of specified objects in directories and options to work with the objects.

Restrictions

  1. To perform operations on the objects, the user must have *USE authority to the command used by the operation, and the appropriate authority to the objects on which the operation is to be performed.
  2. THe user must have *R authority to the directory containing the object links and *X to the other directories in the path. Object authority is not required when displaying the object name only.

Note: If the object link being shown is a symbolic link and the type of the object it points to is being shown, the user must have *R authority to the symbolic link and *X authority to the directories in the path to the resolved object.

For more information about required authorities for performing operations on objects see the iSeries Security Reference book.

For more information about integrated file system commands, see the Integrated file system topic in the File systems and management category of the Information Center.
