Follow these steps to determine which cause list to use:

  1. Telnet to the i5/OS® operating system.

  2. Did you receive a sign-on screen? If Yes, continue. If No, see Cause List A.

  3. Enter sign-on information.

  4. Is sign-on successful? If Yes, continue. If No, see Cause List B.

  5. Run the required applications.

  6. Are applications successful? If Yes, continue. If No, see Cause List C.

  7. Telnet is working.
