Defining a host table

You must define the host table to allow communication with the hosts on the network.

To define a host table, follow these steps:

  1. Select Option 10 (Work with TCP/IP Host Table Entries) from the Configure TCP/IP menu, and then press Enter.

  2. Specify Option 1 (Add) to show the Add TCP/IP Host Table Entry display, and then press Enter.

  3. Specify the IP address, the associated local host name and the fully qualified host name, and then press Enter.

  4. Specify a plus sign (+) to make space available for more than one host name, if necessary.

  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for each of the other hosts on the network to which you want to communicate with by name, and add an entry for each.
