Recording and printing all system values before you install software

IBM recommends that you record or print your system values prior to the i5/OS® upgrade.

To do this, use the Work with System Value command. On the i5/OS command line, type WRKSYSVAL OUTPUT(*PRINT). This helps to ensure that the upgrade process will not fail due to a previous modification of any system value. This will also help you reset the values after you complete the upgrade.
