Copying a portlet to another category in the Portlet Palette

You can drag a copy of a portlet from one category to another category to customize the Portlet Palette. A portlet is not removed from the original category when you move this portlet to another category. When you drag a portlet to another category, you can only move this portlet to one category at a time. You can also add a copy of a portlet to multiple categories at one time by accessing the drop-down menu by the portlet name in the category. Refer to Copying a portlet to multiple categories in the Portlet Palette for more instructions if you want to use this method.

Perform the following steps to move a portlet to another category:

  1. Click Open Portlet Palette to open the Portlet Palette.

  2. Click on a portlet in a category and continue to hold the mouse key down.

To select multiple portlets, hold the Ctrl key down while clicking on the appropriate portlets.

  3. Drag the portlet to the appropriate category in your Portlet Palette. A horizontal line appears as you drag the portlet over areas in a category that you can move the portlet. When you move a portlet to a category, the portlet is placed in alphabetical order among the portlets already contained in this category.

  4. Drop the portlet by releasing the mouse key to move your portlet to another category.

  5. Click Close Portlet Palette to close the Portlet Palette.
