Change an existing promotion in an extended sites store
In this step, we will assume the role of Amelia, a Marketing Manager, responsible for updating promotions in the asset store and extended sites store to make them more competitive. You will change the 5% off all orders over $100 promotion in the extended sites Sample B2B store to 10% off all orders over $100 to increase the discount for repeat customers.
After completing the previous step, you are still logged on to the Management Center as Logan. Before you can complete this task, log off the Management Center since we will complete this task as Amelia.
To change a promotion in an extended sites store:
Procedure
- Log in to the Management Center as the user Amelia at the following URL:
https:// host_name:8000/lobtools where host_name is the fully qualified host name of the WebSphere Commerce Server machine.
- Open the Promotions tool.
- From the Store list, select the Sample B2B Store.
- From the explorer view, select Promotions to display a list of all of the promotions.
- In the Promotions list view, right-click the 5%
off all orders over $100 promotion and click Deactivate to deactivate the promotion so that you can edit it.
- Right-click the 5% off all orders over $100 promotion and click Open.
- In the Purchase Condition and Reward section, change the percentage discount on order to 10.
- Click the Descriptions tab and change the Administrative description and the Customer viewable short description to 10% off all orders over $100.
- Click Save and Close.
- In the Promotions list view, right-click the 5% off all orders over $100 promotion and click Activate to activate the promotion.
The updated promotion displays in the Promotions list view.
