Create a new product in an extended sites store
In this step, you play the role of Logan, a Category/Product manager, responsible for updating the asset store master catalog and adding new products to the catalog in extended sites stores. You will add a new Entertainment\on board computing audio system to the catalog in the extended sites store to reflect marketing goals.
To create a new product in an extended sites store:
Procedure
- Log in to the Management Center as the user Logan at the following URL:
https://host_name:8000/lobtools
...where host_name is the fully qualified host name of the WebSphere Commerce Server machine.
- Open the Catalogs tool.
- From the Store list, select the Sample B2B Store to view the catalog that customers will see in the Sample B2B storefront, including the master catalog from the asset store (Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store).
- From the list beside the
Create New button, click Product.
- The Manage Product tab displays in the Product Properties view.
- Expand the Object Properties section to view the store that the new product will be associated with. This read-only section only appears when you are working in an extended sites store and displays the name of the extended site (Sample B2B Store).
- Expand the General Product Information section and complete the following information:

Manufacturer Stacatto Inc Manufacturer Part Number Stacatto - 1093 Parent Category (Master Catalog) Audio Systems (and then click 
to find and add this parent category from the asset store master catalog).
- Expand the Publishing section and ensure that the For Purchase check box is selected.
This option indicates that customers can include this new product in their shopping carts and order it.
- Expand the Display section and complete the following information:
Option Description Display to Customer Ensure this check box is selected to indicate that customers can view this product in the storefront. Thumbnail images/im-kdc-c469fm-kusa-50.jpg Full Image images/im-kdc-c469fm-kusa-150.jpg - Expand the Pricing section and complete the following information:
Option Description List Price Place the mouse over the USD editable cell and click to add a list price of 459.99 Offer Price Click 
to create a new offer price. In the Minimum Quantity cell, type 1; in the USD cell, type 449.99.
- Click Save and Close.
Your new product has been added to the extended sites Sample B2B Store.
To verify that the new product was successfully added:
- In the explorer view, expand the Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store catalog.
- Select the category...

- Verify that the new product appears in the Catalog Entries list view.
Tip: The Type and Store columns in the Catalog Entries list view help you to differentiate between the extended sites store and the asset store. For example, if the product is contained in the asset store, the product icon in the Type column displays a small white arrow 
and the store listed in the Store column is the asset store (Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store). If the product is contained in the extended sites store, the product icon in the Type column does not display a small white arrow and the store listed in the Store column is the extended sites store (Sample B2B Store).
