Duplicate a control activity

If the experiment has resulted in data that shows a more effective marketing message, but you still want to keep the original control Web activity, you can duplicate it. This creates a copy of the control Web activity that contains the selected test element.

Procedure

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  2. Click Marketing > Experiments. A list of the currently defined experiments displays. If you do not see this menu, then the logon ID does not have the appropriate authority to perform this task. Contact the Site Administrator.

  3. Select the check box to the left of the marketing experiment for which you want update the control element.

  4. Click Summary.

  5. Review the results to determine which test element has achieved the best results. Select the check box to the left of the test element with which to update the control element.

  6. Click Duplicate Control Activity. This opens the Web activity notebook to create an unnamed Web activity, populated with the data that describes the current control activity, but incorporates the test element selected. For example, if you are testing the target customer segment, the new control activity will be populated with the original data, except that it will now target the selected test segment. This does not overwrite the original control activity.

  7. Click OK to save the updated Web activity.
