ProductAttributeUpdate URL

This URL updates an existing attribute. Note that the attribute type cannot be changed.

Restriction: This URL must only be used for updating defining attributes. Descriptive attributes are not supported.


URL structure

http:// host_name/path/

The fully qualified name of the WebSphere Commerce Server and the configuration path.

Parameter values

attributeId

Required: The reference number of the attribute. When the attribute ID is specified, the attribute with the specified attribute ID must exist in the store's default language. You are creating the same attribute in a second language. You must specify either attributeId, or catentryId combined with name.

catentryId

Required: The reference number of the catalog entry. You must specify either catentryId combined with name, or attributeId.

name

Required: The name of the attribute. You must specify either name combined with catentryId, or attributeId.

desc

A description of the attribute.

desc2

A description of the attribute.

field1

A customizable field.

attrtypeId

The reference number of the attribute type.

descLangId

The description of the language's reference number.

usage

The purpose of the attribute.

URL

The URL to be called when the command completes successfully.


Example

The following example updates attribute 10001 in the logon language for catalog entry 10001 and attribute name testAttributeInteger:
