Keeping the WebSphere Commerce test server state independant from Rational Application Developer
How do you keep the test server running with Rational Application Developer shut down when using WebSphere Commerce Developer?

Answer

A server configuration in Rational Application Developer allows you to control the state of the WebSphere Commerce test server when exiting the workspace. In Order to configure the test server to keep running or shutdown when closing Rational Application Developer, follow these steps:

1. Launch WebSphere Commerce Developer.

2. Right click on the test server and select open the server configuration as in the screenshot below:

3. The Server Overview window looks as follows:
The "Terminate server on workbench shutdown " specifies the state of the test server when exiting.

If this option is unchecked then the server will keep running after exiting WebSphere Commerce Developer, Otherwise the test server will be shut down.

4. Save the Server configuration and restart WebSphere Commerce Developer for the new settings to take effect.
