Roll back a migration

If a migration fails, we can roll back the environment to the previous one.

Ensure you have a back-up copy of the installation environment.

Rolling back the Connections environment ensures you have a clean environment before attempting the migration again.

To roll back the Connections environment:

  1. Restore the databases from the backup made. Use your native database tools.

  2. Restore the Connections install directory from the backup.

  3. Restore the WAS profile directory, and the profileRegistry.xml file from the back-up.

  4. Restore the WAS DMGR_PROFILE: profile_root/Dmgr01. For example: D:\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\dmgr.

  5. if we are performing migration on the same system as your 4.0 deployment, restore the Installation Manager data directory from the backup.
