IBM Connections configuration files

Configuration files are XML-formatted files that store configuration information for Connections.

The following table lists the configuration files provided with Connections, and describes what they do.

Configuration file Description
calendar-config.xml Events widgets.
communities-config.xml Communities application.
communities-policy.xml Permission levels of different roles in the Communities application. For example, it might specify that owners in a public community can modify the community description or members in a private community can add bookmarks.
contentreview-config.xml Content moderation in the Blogs, Files, and Forums applications.
directory.services.xml Common directory services.
dogear-config-cell.xml Bookmarks at the cell level. Intranet vs. internet sites.
events-config.xml How events are collected and managed.
files-config.xml Files application.
forum-config.xml Forums application.
forum-policy.xml Permission levels of different roles in the Forums application.
gettingstarted-config.xml Content of the Getting Started tab in the home page.
library-config.xml Behavior of library widgets in the Communities application.
LotusConnections-config.xml Common Connections applications, such as the navigation bar links.
media-gallery-config.xml Media Gallery widget in the Communities application.
metrics-config.xml Metrics application.
mime-files-config.xml MIME type assignments for file extensions and icons in the Files application.
mime-wikis-config.xml MIME type assignments for file extensions and icons in the Wikis application.
mobile-config.xml Connections Mobile service.
news-config.xml How information is cleaned up and synchronized in the news repository.
notification-config.xml Email notifications across all of the applications.
oa-config.xml Activities, such as managing uploaded files, defining which statistics to collect, and purging the trash.
og-config.xml URL preview function.
opensocial-config.xml Important one. OpenSocial service. Used for the integration of OpenSocial gadgets. Make sure Shindig is enabled.
profiles-config.xml Profiles application.
profiles-policy.xml Enable or disable profiles on the basis of profile type and properties that control the behavior of status updates in Profiles.
proxy-config.tpl Proxy server redirects for specific URL patterns. Using redirects, we can allow access to web sites we deem to be safe, or block access to web sites we deem to be dangerous. This configuration file also defines rewrite rules that specify aliases for web addresses.
search-config.xml Search application.
uiextensions-config.xml Customization in the business card, Communities, the home page, and Profiles.
widgets-config.xml Widgets that can be added to the Communities and Profiles applications.
wikis-config.xml Wikis application.
XRDS.xml Standard definition document in XML format for the discovery of metadata about a resource.
