Run a migration on application client installations

Migrate client resources to v8.0 level resources.

If the source WebSphere Application client is v6.1, run WASPreUpgrade and WASPostUpgrade to migrate the existing security settings.

Procedure

1. Install the WebSphere v8.0 Application client.

2. Run clientUpgrade on application client ear files.

3. Run v8 WASPreUpgrade to save the Application client security settings to a migration backup directory. For example:
   /opt/AppClientV8/bin/WASPreUpgrade.sh /mybackup/v61clientTov8 /opt/AppClientV61

4. Run v8 WASPostUpgrade to restore the Application client security settings to the new v8 client. For example:
   /opt/AppClientV8/bin/WASPostUpgrade.sh /mybackup/v6clientToV8
