The JMX specification allows you to write Java programs to administer WebSphere Application Server.
The product supports a Java
programming interface for developing administrative programs. All
of the administrative tools supplied with the product are written according
to the API, which is based on the industry standard Java Management Extensions
(JMX) specification. You can write a Java program that performs any of the
administrative features of the WebSphere Application Server administrative
tools. You can also extend the basic WebSphere Application Server administrative
system to include your own managed resources.
