WebSphere Application Server requires a minimum cumulative PTF package level for the operating system on your iSeries server. If the correct cumulative PTF package is not installed on your iSeries server, install the cumulative PTF before you install WebSphere Application Server.
To install the cumulative PTF, follow your normal PTF installation procedures.

Installing the cumulative PTF package requires you to restart your iSeries server. If it is not convenient to restart your server at the time that you apply the new PTF package, you can load and apply the PTFs and then specify that any PTFs that require an IPL be applied at the next normal IPL of the server. However, do not install the WebSphere Application Server product until all of the PTFs have been successfully applied.
