IBM WebSphere Portal is the base component of the portal environment. We can install WebSphere Portal as a single component, complete with its own integrated IBM Cloudscape database for storing information. This enables you to get WebSphere Portal up and running .

If you are only interested in the basic functionality provided by WebSphere Portal, we can immediately begin building and working with it. However, if you require additional functionality, such as LDAP-based authentication or collaboration functionality, we can add these components as we need them and expand the WebSphere Portal environment as or as slowly as you choose.

  2. Make necessary changes to the operating system.

  3. Choose an installation source

  4. Choose the type of installation you want to perform and follow the instructions provided

  5. Install Critically important WebSphere Portal 6.0.1 and 6.0.1.1 fixes for Workplace Web Content Manager users

  6. Verify and launch WebSphere Portal

  7. Troubleshoot if necessary
