The base directory

Throughout this book, we use mqmtop to represent the name of the base directory where WebSphere MQ is installed.

• On the AIX operating system, mqmtop represents the directory

  /usr/mqm.

• On other UNIX systems, mqmtop represents the directory

  /opt/mqm.

• On Microsoft Windows systems, the directory represented by mqmtop depends on where WebSphere MQ is installed. For a new installation of WebSphere MQ, the default is

  C:\\IBM\WebSphere MQ.

In the case of z/OS systems, thlqual represents the high level qualifier of the WebSphere MQ installation library.
