Caching Types

There are two types of caching available within a Web Content Management environment:

Web Content Caching This caches the Web Pages delivered by the Web Content Management application.
Data Caching Data Caching is used to cache data retrieved by the Web Content Management application from external sources using "Connect" tags or by requests made via URL.

This includes data retrieved from sources such as SQL databases or other Web Pages.

In addition to Web Content Management's caching features, you can also pre-render a Site. The Pre-rendering feature takes a "snap-shot" of an entire Web Content Management Site and converts it to HTML. The HTML-based site can then be viewed via a standard HTTP server.
