[V5.1 and later]Uninstalling in a coexistence scenario

This task describes how to uninstall a product in a coexistence scenario, when various releases of IBM WebSphere Application Server products might be on the same machine, each running in a uniquely named node. You can use the uninstaller program to uninstall each product.

Overview

Several scenarios can occur when uninstalling coexisting products. All of them have to do with whether the product has the embedded messaging feature installed. Steps in this task describe various scenarios you can follow:

Select one of the following optional steps that describes your scenario.

  1. Stop any browsers, delete any configuration instances, and stop any Java processes related to WebSphere Application Server products as described in Uninstalling the product.

  2. Uninstall a Network Deployment node that does not have the embedded messaging client feature installed, as described in Uninstalling Network Deployment.

  3. Uninstall a managed WebSphere Application Server node that does not have the embedded messaging feature installed, as described in Uninstalling base WebSphere Application Server.

  4. Uninstall a managed WebSphere Application Server node that has the embedded messaging server and client feature installed, as described in Uninstalling base WebSphere Application Server.
